Is Inguinal Hernia common in the right side for men?

Inguinal Hernia is the protrusion of the intestine and other abdominal tissues into the inguinal canal through a weak tissue near the groin. Inguinal Hernia can occur in the right or left or sometimes in both left and right, also called bilateral hernia. Some studies have found that the incidence of right side Hernia is slightly higher than the left side hernia.

The main reason attributed to the higher prevalence of right-side hernia is the delayed descent of the right testicle through the inguinal canal. The prevalence of right-side inguinal hernia was also found to be slightly higher in women where the occurrence of Inguinal Hernia itself was rare.
